Students who are at least 14½ years old and are pursuing a high school diploma or GED can enroll in this approved driver education course.
Driver education courses consist of two phases:
Upon completion, students will receive a Driver Education Certificate. This allows them to apply for a level one Limited Learner Permit, the first level of North Carolina's graduated licensing process for drivers under age 18.
Any individual of 18 years of age or older are required to have a valid NC Learners Permit in order to take any Behind The Wheel (on-the-road) driving classes.
